World’s Oldest Woman Ate 2-3 Eggs Every Day for Ninety Years

I have always had high cholesterol (around 300), some of which is probably inherited. About 15 years ago, when I was strictly following a low fat diet (the wisdom at the time), I noticed some white spots around my eyes which. Eventually I discovered that these were deposits of fat underneath the skin, and the name for this condition is Xanthelasma:

Over time I became aware that these spots are a sign of high blood fats and an early indicator of heart disease. I had them removed by laser and the doctor did warn me at the time that they would return. He wanted to put me on statins, but I refused.

I figured if the low fat diet was giving me such poor results, why not indulge myself in some high fats and see what happens. For about six months I ate two hard boiled eggs every day and lots of various fats. My cholesterol actually DROPPED slightly.

The moral of the story is I believe the current established thinking on cholesterol is lacking in many ways. From my own personal experience, I found that dietary cholesterol has little effect on blood cholesterol levels. Recent studies are confirming this, and showing that what we have been told about cholesterol is not correct.

And so, it was fascinating to learn that the world’s oldest person, Emma Morano, from Italy, who just recently died at 117 years old, has been eating 2-3 eggs every day for the past NINETY years. The egg routine started with a health crisis when Morano was 20. Suffering from anemia, she consulted a doctor who told her to eat three eggs a day: two raw and one cooked, the agency reported. She’s kept that diet for more than 90 years, which would amount to consuming more than 100,000 eggs.

Of all the people on the earth, this lady lived the longest, and her diet should have seriously impacted her health a long time ago according to current thinking.

As a result, I am slowly increasing my own egg consumption again. I cut a boiled egg in half, add a small piece of sliced cheese, and maybe add some roasted sesame sauce, salt and pepper if desired, and it’s quick, cheap, nutritious, and delicious! I’m not sure if a high fat, high cholesterol diet (plus Natural Desiccated Thyroid) helps, but the spots around my eyes have not returned and are slowly fading.

Please by all means consult with your health professional, but do your own research as well, because no one cares about your health as much as you do. With the modern blood testing tools we have available, we can and should monitor progress and results of any self testing we do.
