Dear Mirabelly,

Our product is unfortunatly not available in the US (althought it is possible to get the medication under certain very specific conditions upon approval of the local health authorities).

Have a nice day,

Dr Knafo Henri

Dear Dr. Henri,

Your product is the only natural thyroid product I can find that does not have calcium as an added ingredient. You say you can help me get Thyroid in the US if I have extenuating circumstances. There are no natural(OR synthetic) products anywhere in the US that don't have calcium added. I am very sensitive to calcium because I have a magnesium deficiency(many hypothyroid patients do have low magnesium). Is that enough reason to get Thyroid in the US and how do I go about getting Thyroid? I need to know every step, so I only have to bug my doctor for the prescription.

Why isn't Thyroid available in the US? Is it the strong market for Armour or what?

Dear Mirabelly,

We do not use calcium as an extra ingredient in our Thyroid product (we actually use magnesium stearate). If you are sensitive to calcium and wish to get our product in the US there are several ways to do so.

The easiest way is to get evaluated by a Canadian physician that would prescribe to you Thyroid product directly.
The other way (more difficult) is to get a US physician to evaluate your case and to decide if Thyroid would be beneficial. If this is the case, he should pass via a special access program and fill in the proper papers (from the FDA). If he needs assistance we could help him and he just have to contact us. With the proper presciption your local pharmacy can contact us so that we can ship the medication.
Our product is approved by the Canadian health authorities but not by the FDA, that is why we cannot sell it in the US.
If you need further assistance please call us directly.
yours truly,

Hello Mirabelly,

That is a good question. The answer is simple. We did not apply for FDA approval since our license for Thyroid is exclusive to Canada. Thyroid product was previously owned by Pfizer Canada and we bough the license.

Hi there everyone,

We are receiving a lot of phone calls and e-mails from the USA and we are planning to make it easier for people to obtain Thyroid in the US. I Just spoke with the FDA and learned that all the desiccated thyroid medication sold in the US is NOT FDA approved. This is suprising considering the fact that in Canada desiccated Thyroid is approved and well controled (we have regular inspections by the health authorities).
So If you are in the US and want to get our medication there is only 2 ways (legal) of getting it:

1. You have to drive to Canada (or take the plane) and get yourself a Dr to prescribe it. This could be a problem since you need a follow up once in a while.
2. You can get it directly by having your US certified doctor (or NP) prescribe it and filling up the requiered FDA form (it`s really easy and there is only the IND Form 1572 that should be posted in our website soon). Once we receive the prescription and the IND form we will be able to ship it and it should clear custom legaly with no fees from the FDA.

So I`ll be posting the FDA form soon in our website (you can also get it online: http://www.fda.gov/downloads/AboutFDA/ReportsManualsForms/Forms/UCM083548.pdf )

Hope this info can help.

Hi there Everyone,

I have been receiving an enormous amount of phone calls from patients in the USA since a few days now. The situation is that most of other natural thyroid products are on back order or simply not satisfactory. We do not expect ANY shortage for the year to come, and we welcome US patient that need to be treated with our product.
In order to obtain this product a US patient needs to obtain 2 things from his doctor:

1. A valid presciption for Thyroid (the dosage are the same then other desiccated thyroid in the US)
2. Fill in the FDA form 1572 by the MD. This can obtain via the net or by sending me an e-mail at info@erfa.net
3. Fax us everything at 1 514 931 7330 or e-mail us everything.

We can then send the medication upon payment within the same day.

Hope this info is useful. People should not hesitate to contact me directly for more details.

Dear all,

After some discussions with the FDA, the FDA forms are not required anymore. We only need a valid presciption mentionning ERFA Thyroid or Thyroid on it.
Once we have the prescription, we will inform on how to proceed with a valid credit card payment.
